Messy Church Videos

Our regular programme of hands-on creative experiences and celebration for mums, dads and children together was suspended during the pandemic but the drama team that brings ‘Open the Book’ to our local schools recorded SPECIALLY WRITTEN DRAMAS for the third Sunday of the month – the day when we usually have a more informal service. Recent videos recorded during the pandemic for Collective Worship at STEYNING CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL may be found below too.

Here once again is our specially produced version of the dramatic Christmas story. There’s something for everyone – Mary and Joseph, angels, shepherds, a donkey, plenty of sheep, some horses, a pig, some singing turkeys, and lovely music, for children and adults alike.

During pandemic restrictions our church primary school is unable to have as many visitors, so our clergy and other ministers have instead filmed a number of videos, which also feature our choir, music group or a drama from the ‘Open the Book’ Team.

Troubleshooting for Videos on this site

These videos should replay without problems if your browser is up-to-date, although we are aware of the following issues:

  • I can view the video okay on the website but my browser won’t display a fullscreen picture. Some web browsers do not support a full screen view. We suggest you either try a different browser, or view the videos on your YouTube Channel. (If you are viewing on a smartphone, try watching the video horizontally.)
  • I can see the picture but cannot hear the soundtrack. A few of these videos will not play the soundtrack on smartphones. If you have this problem, we suggest you try again on a tablet or larger computer.
