Rogation

Rogation – Sunday 14 May

On the morning of Sunday 14 May, we joined our sister church of St James, Ashurst, and other member churches of Steyning & District Churches Together, for a service of Rogation – asking for God’s blessing on our crops. The service was held at the cricket ground in Ashurst, conducted by Fr Mark, vicar or Steyning and Rector of Ashurst. Our friends from the Hub Baptist Church in Beeding, Steyning Methodist Church and Christ the KIng Roman Catholic Church all took part in a joyous outdoor service.

In another departure from normal Steyning services, the same evening saw a Healing Service and Eucharist replace the 6pm said Evening Prayer; something which we hope to repeat later this year.
