Brighton Early Music Festival Consort

Saturday 21 June, 7:30pm

Please join us at St Andrew’s & St Cuthman’s to enjoy the wonderful voices of Brighton Early Music Festival Consort of Voices. It is their first visit to Steyning and they will be giving a programme of  Madrigals and Motets for a Summer Evening, under the direction of their conductor James Elias. Tickets £15/under 30 £7.50/under 12 free. Book via bremf.org.uk  or on the door.

We will be selling refreshments in the interval to raise money for church refurbishments. We look forward to welcoming you.

Exciting news – children’s church relaunched

Our new look Children’s Church takes place on the first and fourth Sundays of the month.

Our sessions will include crafts, teaching and worship. We will start in church at the 9.30 service then head out to our group and will return to join the rest of the church family for the Eucharist.

Please join us after the 9:30 Music Group Eucharist on Sunday 18 May for our Annual Parochial Church Meeting, preceded by the Annual Parish Meeting for the election of churchwardens.

This is your chance to elect a new Parochial Church Council (we hope you are happy with the current one, but there are some vacant slots and we would love to hear some new voices). You will be able to receive reports about how well we have done over the past year – or how badly, but we think we are making good progress.

Join comedian, broadcaster and writer Robin Ince for an evening of entertaining and insightful discussion about neurodiversity, as he celebrates the release of his new book Normally Weird and Weirdly Normal: My Adventures in Neurodiversity.
Robin uses his own experiences to explore the neurodivergent experience and to ask what the point of ‘being normal’ really is. Packed with personal insights, intimate anecdotes and interviews with psychologists, neuroscientists and many neurodivergent people he has met along the way, this is a quirky and witty dive into the world of human behaviour.

Next Chanctonbury Chorus concert

On the evening of Saturday, 7 June in St Andrew’s & St Cuthman’s Church, the Chanctonbury Chorus, together with guest musicians and professional soloists, will be celebrating nature in all its forms through music ranging from 16th century madrigals to 21st century jazz.  Our talented choir will serenade you with harmonies that evoke the beauty of the natural world. Let the melodies transport you to lush forests, serene lakes, and majestic mountains.

Ash Wednesday (5 March)  Holy Communion with imposition of ashes, in Steyning Parish Church.
Two services: Said Eucharist at 11:30am;
Choral Eucharist at 7pm

Tuesday 11 March, 10:45am, Launch of Diocesan Lent Course (with coffee and tea), in the Penfold Hall (or in church depending on numbers attending). All are welcome. The course will continue in our House Groups; although some House Groups have now reached capacity there may be spaces in the newer groups.
