Families and Children
Our Families and Children’s Worker is Gary Pickett. He works closely with our Church of England school, Steyning Primary.
As well as our regular Baby and Toddler Group ‘Little Stars’, held every Thursday morning at 9:30am in the Penfold Hall, Gary puts on a number of other family-friendly events, as described below.
Messy Church Activity Walk in partnership with The Steyning Downlands Scheme
Come and join us on Tuesday 7th April at 10.30am at the cricket field for a walk at the foot of the downs and ending up in mouse lane.

Booking opens at 10am Sunday 8th Feb and closes 11.59pm on Sunday 5th April please book a ticket for each person attending.
This is an event for children accompanied by an adult
There will be 4 activities along the way with the last one being flat bread making in the SDS shelter at the gate way on mouse lane.
We encourage all attendees to wear long trousers and closed toe shoes and to bring water with you. once we have set off there is no water supplies or toilet facilities.
The footpaths on our walk may not be suitable for all people due to going across fields at the base of the downs and pathways being tracks rather then pavements.
Family Camp Is Here
Family camp 2026 booking is now open, come and join us on Friday 19th June to Sunday 21st June for a lovely weekend away, last year Gary, the music group and some of our families loved the weekend away with great food, fun activities and amazing worship. it was also nice to meet people from across the Diocese as well.

Board Game Café Evening Edition
Our new board game café evening edition launch’s in addition to our normal board game café as people had asked for an evening group due to working so we are super excited to be launching this new adventure which is the 4th Monday of each month from 6pm – 9pm in the Penfold Hall.
Pancakes and Coffee
After last year’s awesome event we have decided to run our Pancakes and coffee event again so come and join us on Shrove Tuesday in the church from 10am until 12noon for freshly made pancakes and lots of different toppings to add to your pancake come and other activities and share in this with us as we celebrate the last day before the start of lent.
Come eat, drink and chat with us.
Donations for the pancakes will be greatly welcomed to help us cover our costs.
Angel Drop
The Angel drop happened the last week of term and over 400 angels appeared in the early hours for the children to pick up and take home.
Advent Stir Up
Advent Stir Up was a great morning with lots of activities going on in the church on Saturday 29th November.
Activities included wreath making, Christmas pudding stirring, Christmas card making, decorations, stars and melted snowman biscuits.
The morning will be a fun filled time and we can’t wait until Christmas, so do come and join us from 9.30 – 11.30 to start your festive season.
Christingle
Our Christingle service will be taking place on Sunday, 7 December and we look forward to seeing you all join us for this lovely family service.
FIRE PIT SERVICE
Come and join us in the churchyard of St Andrew’s and St Cuthman’s church for a short informal service starting at 6pm on the second Sunday of the month.
Our next service is Sunday, 8th March
The service will include a reading, short talk, prayer, worship and toasting and eating marshmallows together at the end
Children’s Church
Our new look Children’s Church has now started and we would love to see anyone who is primary school age come and join us.
Our sessions will include crafts, teaching and worship. We will start in church at the 9.30 service then head out to our group and will return to join the rest of the church family for the Eucharist
We have a dedicated team who are all very excited about sharing the Bible with children.
Bumps, Baby and Toddler Group
Come and join us on a Monday 13.00 until 14.45 or on a Thursday morning from 09.30 until 11.30 we have lots of different play areas in the hall for your little star to explore.
Come and join us for refreshments and home made cakes for the adults while your little star has fun playing.
we ask for a small suggested donation of £2 per family as this just helps the group run and also to invest in the group to enhance your stars experience.

Family Fun Holiday Activities
Come and join us for three great sessions of family fun,
these sessions are designed for families to come together for lots of fun and crafts.
We are really excited to running these sessions to meet more of our community in a fun and exciting environment.
Each session will have a variety of crafts and activities. with drinks available.
There is a suggested donation for each child of £2.

Family Camp
Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July 2025
We had a fantastic time at the first ever family camp led by Bishop Will and his team, with lots to do and great worship.

The weekend had a great atmosphere with families coming together from all around the Diocese. for worship, games, activities and social time around the camp fire in the evenings.
The theme for the weekend was around Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We can’t wait for next years family camp and we hope that you will join us.
Breakfast & Boardgames
Come and join us for our half term event and enjoy breakfast and some board games and its only £5 for the whole family
