Steyning Parochial Church Council (PCC)

The Parochial Church Council has the responsibility, along with the incumbent (in this parish, the Vicar), to promote the mission of God in its parish. It is the main decision-making body for the local church as a charity. Its members are clergy, churchwardens and others (including those elected to represent the parish at deanery or diocesan synod) elected by the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) of the parish. Its powers and duties are defined by legislation and can principally be found in the Parochial Church Councils (Powers) Measure 1956.
